Ez all DNB heads. Time for another update from the UKs best DNB/Jungle website. We got a few things lined up for u this month including the UnitedMindz Label Launch Party \1Xtra Nominee Party that is being hosted at the Blag Club. Gonna be run by CJ so check out the flyer and the forum on the site for that one. And if anyone is going up that way from Southampton then can u give Fat Barry a lift .

Happy 18th Birthday to April on the 19th, a long time supporter and member of the UKB Family. Plenty of Vodka Redbull methinks 

Also gotta say a happy 21st Birthday to Gwynstarr who will be doing a 2hr set this weekend to celebrate. Big ups to both you girls from all the UKB Family.

Hiya, let me introduce myself - A long time jungle raver since I discovered the sound around 1992, I have been hooked ever since. From the moment I discovered jungle I had to understand how it worked; the mixing and other DJ skills fascinated me, as well as the magical laser cut wonderlands of the clubs and raves.
I started mixing early in '93 and have been a keen DJ ever since. Now I am an accomplished mixologist and bring nothing but the heaviest and deepest vibes in a swathe of upfront, technical and very musical mixing. The boundaries get pushed as I traverse the full spectrum of DNB, leaning towards the darker more atmospheric rolling sounds.
I play out regularly, and hope to push through to being a circuit DJ on the scene. At the moment I play two weekly internet radio shows, Friday nights on www.ukbassradio.com and Thursday’s 8-9 GMT on www.destroyer.net. Usually my MC, and partner in Unitedmindz, Kalaish is performing with me; Kalaish is an awesome MC rolling out the conscious vibes. We are old friends and we really bounce off each other as we perform, he is simply of the highest calibre an MC can be.
Having held DJ residencies with Squeeze18, Freedom Sound-System and Omnipotent, plus playing extensively on the warehouse and free party scene, as well as in clubs throughout the south from the legendary Dungeons to major venues like The Fridge in Brixton; I am raring to go in any venue.
In the last couple of years I have finally been getting onto some production and things are slowly coming good. In fact I recently won the Cutting Room competition on BBC 1XTRA, with the first track I have shown anyone but my friends. So I thought it time to put a few tracks on my myspace too. Things are moving in the right direction - so watch out for what's to come!

Loving DnB more than ever and really feelin' it out at the clubs and at home in the studio, my passion is locked up in those beats and bass, and I definitely represent. Gotta big up Klippa (my partner in Corrosive Alchemy - wicked working with you bro. Cheers for everything man). Also Al Pow (cheers for your support and skills on the decks and at the record shop). Big up Gav for holding UKBass together plus being one kool brudda, and to Mighty and Hue-e at Destroyer. Kalaish – MC, Producer and one half of Unitedmindz. Kalaish first caught the DnB/ jungle bug from way back in the raving/ free party days over a decade and a half ago attending his first ‘rave’ in 1991, an experience that changed his life!! As a lover of drums and an accomplished drummer playing traditional kits, Djembe, Darabhuka and Conga’s, it was a natural progression from the early rave sounds to the Jungle and DnB of the AWOL Paradise Club sound through to the present day. Inspired by his love of Hip Hop and DnB kalaish took the mic into the public realm 3 and a half years ago, teaming up with DJ CJ for the 5 hour + Unitedmindz show, now in its 3 rd year. Kalaish has 3 elements which he maintains as the basis for his mc'ing - Musicality, Content and Timing. It's about becoming with the music, the flows, understanding the sound and picking the right time to rhyme. Kalaish gives the DJ the space and time to flex and the freedom to express their skills and sounds, something he enjoys doing with DJ CJ an awesome DJ and technical athlete, in fact in his opinion one of the best there is. Who else can play 5-hour regular sets without mistake?????? It's all about the listening pleasure. It's about the music. As Unitedmindz Dj Cj + Kalaish are pushing the boundaries in an otherwise sometimes creatively stale environment, developing an unprecedented teamwork and spontaneity unseen or heard between DJ and MC. Kalaish has performed at venues such as the Fridge in Brixton and regularly at The Freedom events hosted by Nastybeatz. If kalaish can find his way out of his studio, 2007 will see the release of his new production projects to compliment the completed Unitedmindz web site. We are a proactive site and are always looking for new talent for the station. So if you think you can mix, or you have put down a track that you think we could play on air, then follow these simple steps.

2. If you submit a mix then it should be between 45 and 60 minutes long, with a track list as much as possible.
