Ez all UKBass Family. Another round up of the latest news from your top Drum and Bass Radio site.

Do you wanna see a different angle on your UKBassradio shows? Are you the kind of person who would like to get more involved in the site? Are you up for some fresh challenges? Then read the following message from the ABUSE Collaboration:

“Myself, and Strict, have both come to a decision that we want to help take UK Bass Radio to the next level.

We are planning on having a totally interactive radio show, where we will conduct the live broadcasts from feedback received from the listeners..

First off we will be working along side Gav (Boss man) Overload, to get a mini Forum style webpage as the base for this new project.

This mini site will contain VOTING polls, for a weekly, or possibly fortnightly top 10 D&B chart. Which would have been selected from for example the most submitted tunes from the listeners who are involved.

We will also be contacting labels/promoters/clubs galore to try and get as much info/news/prizes/guest mixes....the lot!!

Not forgetting an Unsigned/Z-Recordings Dub section, maybe where we will showcase the top 5 latest dubs we have received at the Z Recordings A&R section.

It is going to take a whole lot of time and effort for us both, but we are both feeling very positive about this project, and would appreciate all/any support from the listeners, and other UK Bass family.

Enough talking! Please help us get this up and running as soon as possible by simply sending an E-Mail With*preferred* or Without feedback - so we can create a mailing list to keep everyone up to date on the status of the project, and obviously let you know when it is going to be starting!

I've been listening to Drum&Bass/Jungle since 1997, when I was originally
blown away by LTJ BUKEM's mixing and tunes and the whole Good Looking
Organisation Recordings sound and ethos, GOLDIE's "Inner City Life"and RONI
SIZE & REPRAZENT's "New Forms".
The first DJ I saw live was KENNY KEN at Timepiece in Exeter in 1997, and I
have been avidly listening to and attending D&B/Jungle gigs ever since,
including the JUNGLE CARNIVAL 2001 in LONDON, LTJ BUKEM & MC CONRAD at
Timepiece & The Phoenix in Exeter, RONI SIZE & REPRAZENT at BRIXTON ACADEMY,
LONDON ELEKTRICITY, HIGH CONTRAST, DJ's MARKY&PATIFE at GLASTONBURY Festival
2005 and so on....
I started DJing in September 2002, just after finishing university, and love
to mix Esoteric Jungle and D&B, namely Ambient/Atmospheric D&B, Jazz & Ragga
Jungle, Liquid Funk & Latin/Brazillian D&B, Dubwise and Cosmic D&B, Old
School Jungle classics and Old Skool Hardcore.
I first started playing out, after DJing at local house-parties, when I
played a couple of Private Parties at HARPOON LOUIE's in Taunton and the
HAVANNA club in Exeter in 2004, and I have also recently DJ'ed exclusively
for 5 hours at the PLYMOUTH UNIVERSITY-"ORGANIC ARTS" Art Exhibition in Ide
(just outside Exeter) on 12th June 2006. I have been DJing with DJ's
DREADSTRIPE & DIGGAZ at the NORTH BRIDGE INN in Exeter, playing a mix of Dub
Reggae/Funky Jazz Hop/Atmospheric&Jazz Jungle/80's Electro & 70's Rock every
2 weeks from June til September 2006.
I played at an EVOLUTION D&B/Jungle night at the CAVERN club in Exeter in
February 2006, and again at the EVOLUTION "6TH BIRTHDAY Back2Back Special"
Night on the 28th July 2006, and have also Headlined 2 Nights with BACKWARDS
BEATS at ZEPHYRS Bar in May 2005 and at THE HUB on 29th July 2006.
On August 3rd 2006 I started my own regular Live Internet Radio Show; "Into
the Rainforest", on www.ukbassradio.co.uk , which I have been performing on
every Thursday evening from 6:45pm-8pm since, broadcasting through-out the
UK and around the world live, and have had listeners from as far afield as
Sweden, Russia, Holland, America, Belgium, France and Saudi Arabia.
I've recently moved to Aberystwyth in Wales, played at LAMPETER UNIVERSITY
Fresher's Fair and Student Union Club, and have recently become President of
Lampeter Universities' Underground Party/Dance Music Society, putting on my
first night at the University, "RevolutionZ", on 5th February 2007.

DJ Typical first got into jungle when his brother's mate gave him a Nicky Blackmarket tape back in 96. He was hooked instantly. Come 2000 typical wanted to input more into the scene, so he bought a pair of numarks and started mixing d'n'b. 6 years down the line and he's still hard at it, managing to get a slot on ukbassradio every thursday night 8-9pm.
As for playing out, he has been on the flyer for the following events: Bass Fanatics @ Mass and the Redstar, london, Bassmatik @ e-bar, croydon, Xmas Bosh! @ Mass, london, as well as countless private parties(check http://www.myspace.com/djtypical to see flyers).
For the future he hopes he can carry on playin the beautiful music to the world for as long as possible, and maybe get into the production side of things.
