Yeah I'm looking for a new ISP and wanted to see what other DJs are using and how reliable they are. The reason I'm asking Djs is that they use their connection to stream rehularly so it will be more useful, but if anyone else has any recommendations then feel free to post Very Happy

I use BT. It comes with a free wireless router and the connection is 6mbps D/L and 382kbps U/L. It varies a little but not by much.
The router is a bonus but it is easily configurable and allows wireless connectivity throughout your house.
The GUI for the router is easy to navigate, and the BT customer service is FREE. Yes thats right, FREE.

I recommend it.

im with bt too, had a few probs with connection dropping out a few months ago but apart from that they are pretty good. The only problem is if anything goes wrong you have to speak to someone who has a sheet of questions in front of them and if you ask one that aint on it ur stuffed.

Yeh that is true, BUT... i have questioned the many operators many times for friends at different occasions and they all seem to get the problem fixed. U just need to be patient and let them finish their spiel.

I'm with the ISP everyone loves to hate... the dreaded AOL! Twisted Evil Laughing

In all fairness tho, my stream hardly ever drops out or goes wrong (unless the UKB server dies on me!) Sad

Although peeps seem 2 have issues with 'em, when it comes 2 providing a quality connection that's good for streaming, they are the dogs danglies imo.

I know u'd never go with 'em Gav, but just thought i'd air my views Wink

I was using Virgin media @ swansea, tis fairly reliable the connection never dropped (the bonus of cable broadband and not ADSL) At my parents Gaff I am using Tiscali, they r shite, connection always drops and they have just put us on to a high user account which means we get shite d/l speeds (due to my high d/l ammount....... Damn fair usage policy!!! Mad )

BT seems a good option CQB knows what he is talkin about! Wink
'Ope u find a decent ISP

Cable is shit anyways - it's broadband but that means nothing when they sell off the whole bandwidth to the entire neighborhood.... Quality DSL is the way to go Very Happy

If you got the cash, SDSL equal up and download.

On broadband.

Most suppleys are the same, all depends on your exchange. If you got a shit connection now, you might get one when u change. Try getting on to your suppler first to see of theres anything that can bee done. There usally is if you a rural.

Never go for BT, the worst support ever, i have no end of shit with them on a regular basis.

i put most of my adsl customers on plusnet.

Very Happy Very Happy you got get a SDSL. fuking wiked stuff.

Hell, I don't know....
This is a DJ convo anyway...
I'm just some cat who got fed up with cable internet after everyone in the neighborhood got it and it slowed to a crawl.
