Marmite Chicken - (Penny Driscoll)

Take 4 chicken breasts skinned and cut into pieces. Mix together 6 tablespoons of natural yoghurt, 8 teaspoons of MARMITE and the juice and rind of 1 lemon.

Place the chicken in a dish and cover with yoghurt mixture. Leave to marinade for a few hours in the fridge and then thread onto kebab skewers. Grill until golden brown and the chicken is cooked, about 15-20 minutes.

Serve with pita bread, salad...and of course a bottle of wine. Tastes good....the MARMITE moistens and flavours the chicken superbly with that oh so gorgeous taste of MARMITE. Quick and simple to prepare too which is what I like.

Alternatively, serve the chicken up on a bed of rice with a sprinkle of chopped parsley on top.

Marmite & Banana Grill - (Susan Brown)

Use whole meal or granary bread. Toast ONE side of the bread and then spread butter on to taste. Then spread Marmite on taste. Then arrange banana slices on top of the Marmite. Then cover with slices of lean bacon and cook under a hot grill until the bacon is crisp. Serve with cucumber and lettuce salad. (tip....cook the bacon separately and just lay it on the banana afterwards)

Marmite & Rice Crispies - (Jenny Astor)

I am a fellow marmite freak and this morning I tried a new way to have it for breakfast which I found very satisfying. I got a bread roll, spread it with butter, then marmite on both halves of the roll, then put a full handfuls of rice crispies inside. I then put this into the microwave (although I think it would have been better in the oven) for about 15 seconds. The result was rather yummy as the marmite tastes even better when melted, in my opinion.

Marmite's made from beer leftovers, the factory (in Burton) has a pipe running to it from the brewery.

Bovril is made from boiled cow instead, yum! Very Happy

The Romans thought that lettuce was good for sleep, but the crème-de-la-crème “sleep sandwich” has to be a banana, marmite and lettuce buttie: the banana and marmite contain natural substances that help induce sleep.

Very Happy
