Should the chatroom be members only?

I'm just curious, what would people think about only members being able to post in the chatroom?
This would mean:

* You would have to log in to your account to post in the chat
* Everyone can still view the chatroom

Its just that a few people have suggested it and there might be some changes coming to the web site at some point before the new year

It will always, of course, be free to sign up and only takes a second.

I agree man i jus bin on chat room for first time an sume dude comin on dissin DnB and jus generally bin annoyin i think its a good idea even tho im a newbie lol

yeah, I mean I understand that argument, but they are harmless, and whos to say they wont register and then do it. I think its a bad idea cuz I can imagine a person wanting to write something, finding out they have to register, being put off, and then moving on - a lost listener. Whereas, at the moment, passing trade, so to speak, can happily join in the chatroom which then means they are more likely to tune in.

ez, ragman is right. I'm sure there is a lot of people that can't be arsed to log in to chat on the chatbox. Although it would stop people from pretending to be other people if you had to be named as the person you are logged in as to chat. I don't think it is a good idea though, peace.

I like the way it is now for the reason people can just stop by, but on the other hand i guess it would keep the larey lot under control <indescisive git lol

in general a simular problem to the one Blairs having with his ID cards idea i guess lol
