time to get tight with the scheduling i reckon.

only my opinion

when archives are on and no one is scheduled, although its nice to do shows off the cuff. I think those who want more than one show a week should be committing themselves to any extra shows they want to do.

as i say this is just my opinion. In my mind radio needs to be structured so listeners will knew when its live and when its not etc.

Also is there going to be a free music policy now? like hip hop, reggae etc? ( am guilty of playing the odd reggae tune).

just curious about it all really.

IF any of that makes sense, i typed it 4 times..... Embarassed

i suppose in a nut shell, regular shows no jumping on, if people want to do xtra shows maybe get them scheduled and do them regular?

I'm not sure that this is really a problem, because most DJs tend to put that they are 'live' on the stream title. Also, some DJs that have the last show of the night like to do some overtime (like UnitedMindz)
You do have a point tho, so I will think about this and get back to you.

No. There won't be a free music policy. However, I am happy for people to play the odd hip-hop/reggae/breakbeat tune for a change, but the station should stay as it is with the focus on drum & bass. This is because the vast majority of visitors to the site are expecting to hear drum & bass and if they tune in expecting that and get something else, they might not come back.
If someone wants to play a whole show of non drum & bass, then they should get in touch with me first.

can't see why people should have to schedule in live shows if they are using archive time....it only adds extra live time which is only a bonus.

if someone gets scheduled into those times then that will mean the slot is gone for 'off the cuff-ers'....the schedule will grow and all will be good.

If djs already have a regular slot and are on board the station I don't see why they cannot perform impromptu sets when no one else is scheduled - it just adds live time which is good for everybody.

In my case - the show is scheduled to midnight because I don't want to be held to have to play to 1/2/3 in the morning or later....if another dj comes along and takes the midnight till whenever slot then I will finish at midnight. In the meantime I usually enjoy getting tunes out till I fade, but like I say, I don't want to be held to that. Probably the same with others who do 'off the cuff' stuff or whatever.

Obviously the schedule rules and any extras fit around that - but I personlly don't see how bonus live shows can be detrimental to the station while we don't have a full 24/7 schedule.

just my opinion. Very Happy
