Ok so here's my track. It's the first one i've done - I'm still learning Reason at the mo and i only have one sample cd so don't expect it to be anything other than pants.

Do give us your honest oppinion though. if you think it's the worst thing you've ever heard then say so - i can take it.

Laughing Nice on e Tamarin! Lovin da samples ("Smee-Heeee") and da cheeky, bleepy breakbeaty sound!

Could maybe do with a bit more sub-bass and some extra mid-range snare loops/breaks?

Still "It's all a matter of opinion".......

Nice sample in the middle man,
"Ah its awful man, when a women screws you up so bad...

(the beat should stop right about here)

...you wanna become a squirrel"

Then if you brought a heavy bassline in here that would make the tune awesome. Peace Wink

Thanks for the advice and opinions guys. It's all good.

Roostah, i know what you mean about the sub-bass and mid-range snare loops, or at least i think i do. You were being sarcastic right? Either way i reckon the bass and the drums could use a lot of improvement. So much so that i can't be arsed - I’ll just put it away for now and move on to something better.

Hey Gav, i think you're tune's ace - it's got a fine beat to it. and the use of the Queegster is nicely done. I see you've played this game before Wink

Ah right. Cool.

I just thought it might have a bit too much of the sub bass - defiantly not enough variation in the riff anyway.

As for the mid-range loops, as I’m pretty new to this I figured that by mid range you meant cheap. I was gonna say, they aint even mid range, they're bottom of the range. Still, can't argue for 3 quid off ebay.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep it in mind.

Confused Mid range as in cymbal/high hat loops which fill out the space between the bottom end/sub-bass and the top end/treble and snare's (their position in the frequencies between heavy bass/woof and high-treble not their cost or quality).

Ya kno, the percussion that goes "chakka-chakka chakka-chakka, chakka-chakka chakka-chakka" along-side the snares and bass drum....

Probably the best way I can think of describin it....though I'm sure others may be able to explain better

And hey, dont be too hard on yoself - a good tune is always greater than the sum of it's parts. It's all in how you choose to construct those parts to fit your ideas....

cheers Tamarin, thats the first proper tune I've made.
You tunes deffinately worth continuing with tho, its worth spending some more time on it to get it right, try playing with the EQs of all of the intruments, try taking away frequencies to make the parts fit into the mix - each instrument should have its own niche. Also try boosting freq's to make bits stand out.

Keep up the good work..
