How can you count global warming as being as important as war and poverty? Shocked It's a load of rubbish the same as banning photography Laughing

haha yer its not on the same level, but its still se-ri-ous enough...

that image is the top part of the nile after a rise of sea levels by only 1.5 metres.

Scientists have predicted that 'Global sea levels could rise by about 30cm during this century if current trends continue, a study warns'

so in a few generations time, it is fact that a lot of land will be underwater Wink

anyways, back to the topic lol, its a stooopid legislation that will never come into effect Very Happy

i doubt very much if this ever gets passed at all - the worlds crazy; there are wars going on, countries in poverty and global warming etc, and they waste time on rubbish like this?

naivety in the extreme millions of people thought they wouldnt bring in the criminal justice act in 1995 if u read the whole act you would be alarmed to say the least, did u know that a kickabout with your mates in the park is illegal if there is more than 8 of you ? did you know that 4 people and 1 watt of amplified sound playing a wholy or part of a repetitive beat that constitutes a rave as as such an illegal gathering and agrivated trespass bare all this things in mind when you make off the cuff remarks about they wont never bring this bill in, it had too go through a massive process of negation to get too where we know about it.........

On the west coast of wales (doh!!! there is only a west coast in wales!!) there are peat bogs which date back thousands of years. apparently these peat bogs acually travelled a further 5km out to sea than where the edge of them is now. word on the archeological street is this 5km of land was taken by the sea in a matter of a few hundred years.

the irony of global warming is (i do agree that us humans are slowely causing our own genecide as a species through poisioning our environment)that even if we do conqeur it, sea levels will still probably rise!!!

has it ever occoured to anyone that we still might not be out of the ice age of 1000,000 years ago??? who are we humans to determin where the natural cycles of the earth end and 'global warming begins?

the issue is not wether there is global warming but rather, are we prepared to leave the planet and terraform space? what ever happens (save the planet from carbon emiisions ect)sooner or later the earth will become cold/ hot/ dry/ wet ect ect and we will have to leave.

as for not being to photo/ film it....hmmm....what do they not want us to record????? are we turning into north korea where all writing/ medi\a/ images are government approved. is this a reaction to the internet as a means to stop the flow of free images for the world to see in an attempt to propergate propaganda to other countries regarding our culture???

the next question is.... does a camera in a phone count as a camera?????

only one thing is known in this crazy world......politics at present is run by the mafioso and total imbicilles.

Laughing Laughing 1 watt of amplified sound Laughing i probably breath louder than that Laughing

i agree totaly MTB. those crazy fools will stop at nothing short of psychotic lunacy so bringing a bill like this in would be no surprise.

As for the crimminal justice Act it was propsed to parliament by an MP (who designed and over saw its implimentation) who had a majority share holding in Whitbread PLC the Uk brewery. During the unmetered days of sound systems in fields whitbreads saw a 30 ish % drop inj beer sales and froze all divedend returns to its shre holders. 1 year after bringing in the act Whitbread saw a 46% increase in beer sales and record divedend returns to its share holders.

And most of their beer tastes like piss.

It isn't hotter than "ever before" - there are natural fluctuations in the climate anyway, and I don't think that we can have such a big effect on the Earth just from burning a little bit of fuel. It may be getting a little bit warmer but it's not all to do with us.

in your opinion gav!! mine differs there are indeed natural fluctuations in temp and the ice age was a natural phenominon and ok hotter than ever before may have been a bold statement but i shall replace it with since records began every year the records are re set surely that is some sort of indication and the polar caps are melting at an alarming rate?? thats doesnt give you cause for concern ?

Why, do you have some groundbreaking new evidence for us which proves this, because NOBODY has ever said 'the earth is hotter than ever before', mostly because it is complete bollocks.
If you were to look into things properly and do a little research, you would see that right now we are actually in the middle of an ice age, an 'ice age', in geological terms, being any time when there is ice at the poles AT ALL. If there have been long periods in the past (incidentally long before the existence of the human race) that there has been no polar ice cap at all, how can the earth be 'hotter than ever before'?

Yeah i totally agree with Gav....its not all to do with us,plus doesnt matter what we do,its gonna change anyways!
Keep doing what your doing because at the end of the day whether we like it or not its going to change not by much but it will at some point
its pathetic if you ask me Rolling Eyes everyones worrying over someone whats not needed to be worried about!

dont get me wrong yeh its important to some extent but theres only a majority of people on this earth what really do take note on this matter and the other half couldnt care less!

everyone has there own opinion, this is mine Very Happy

This thread appears to have gone a little bit off topic.. Laughing

My 2 pence on global warming:
1: The Earth's climate is constantly changing, has been for millions of years, often as fast as now etc. Most people, and all scientists, agree with this.
2: I agree that the climate is warming at present, albeit by a small amount as a global average. It appears that warming is localised however, with a greater change in some areas, especially the poles. This would suggest accelerated melting of the polar ice caps over the next few hundred years. I agree with this.
3: HOWEVER: Sea level rises over the next hundred years are expected to be (if warming continues).. about 20cm. NOT metres, not enough to flood London, let alone the entire world.
4: Assuming that global warming is caused or exacerbated by human activity, the situation is complex and there are numerous greenhouse gases, including CO2, methane, water vapour etc etc. Simply going on an all-out assault on CO2 emmissions won't change that much.
5: There are far worse polluters than the UK. If we were to stop all industrial activity, scrap all the cars and kill everyone in Britain, the emmissions saved would be made up for by growth in China's emmissions within 2 years.

Now the personal ones..
6: Considering that the UK already represents a small percentage of global CO2 emmissions, road transport also represents a small percentage of the UK's CO2 emmissions. My own car represents 1/28,000,000 of this small percentage. Leave me the fuck alone, Tony.
7: Most people don't realise that cars are usually MORE efficient than public transport in terms of pollution. An average bus produces 160X the pollution of the average car. A bus holds 56 people. You work it out.
If you put 2 people or more in a car, it is more effecient than going by train for CO2.

*phew* Very Happy
