Yes, I hate racism and think that any racist comments should be deleted or edited from the forums, but anyone that knows me will also know that I also cannot stand political correctness to say the least - it causes more problems than it solves. People should be able to express their opinions without having to worry about some Lib Dem voting fairy that thinks that everyone else will be offended. I am talking about people that try to ban the use of phrases such as 'black board' and rhymes like 'bah bah blacksheep' in schools - these are not offensive terms, a black board is called a black board because it is a 'board' that happens to be the colour 'black' - if it were red, it would be a red board and so on.

I would actually disagree slightly with this; for 2 reasons. First, I believe in free speech, and people should have the right to say whatever they like, no matter how offensive, distasteful or disgusting their views may appear to you. The only exception to this, in my eyes, would be direct incitement to violence or other physical acts. Second, if a user's comments (racist or otherwise) are edited, then the rest of us cannot see what a complete twat the poster really is! IMHO, it is far better for racist posts to be unedited and reveal the views of the poster, rather than be edited and potentially go undetected by most people on here. /this post does not refer to Drex's or anyone elses posts on here, it is more of a general opinion. 
IMHO, the use of a word does not constitute a political opinion. Saying 'Tory' does not make you a member of the Labour Party. Saying 'nigger' does not make you a racist, in an appropiate context. |

I do think that particularly offensive and/or racist comments should be deleted. This is because someone visiting and reading the forums for the first time may be mistaken in thinking that by not deleting comments, we condone what is being said (although other posts after it may say otherwise).
