Hmm, bizarrely I think it is probably me getting hit by a dry stone wall around the age of 4 or 5. Like the dim-witted young scamp that I was, I felt it might be fun to try and pull the huge end stone off a dry stone wall. I managed to pull it off but of course, with the stone being about the size of me, I couldn’t hold onto it and dropped it on the top of my head. Was much crying. I remember shouting my Dad but he couldn’t hear me as he was mowing the lawn, so I ran inside to my mum who, comfortingly, told me it was “amazing you weren’t killed”.
May well go some way to explaining a few things…
