It's perfectly legal as faras I know, it is the owners responsibility to get licensing etc and you can charge people as much as you like (you need to work out what people will pay) |

yes it is legal if the venue has entertainment licence, and liquor licence then you can charge and serve alcohol, have to check times tho as late licence needs applying for. The only way to get around late licence is to rent a hall yourself and hold a private party, you can then have it as late as you like but you cannot charge entrance fee or serve alcohol (althouigh is possible to hire a mobile bar who have their own liquer licence). One way round is to buy loads of alcohol and some raffle tickets, and then sell raffle tickets for say £1.50 each and they win a can of lager!! Hope this helps |

Me and a m8 are in the process of setting up a night in Plymouth @ the mo, (Rollcage, Fortesque, Mutley Plain), and it is in the cellar of a pub. Only a small venue but we've decided to concentrate on a good sound system and decor as it will leave a lasting impression on people that come for the first night, then hopefully they will come back. Good tunes are also a must |
