Which do you prefer, hardware or software?

I personally use only software, there a lot of good, free synths and samplers out there.

My setup
Pentium 4 3.0GHz, 1GB PC3200 RAM, 120GB HD, Philips Soundcard with MIDI, NVidia 6600 256MB
GoldWave (Sample editor)
FruityLoops (Sample sequencer)
Cubase (only used for MIDI)
CMusic (Audio and MIDI sequencer)
Hundreds of VST plugins
Yamaha PSR 290 MIDI keyboard
Used occasionally:
Orangator and Visual Orangator
