Following on from contaminated weed, now we've got contaminated petrol...

It seems that a batch of unleaded petrol has been distributed through Tesco and possibly Morrisons stations which is causing problems with car Lambda sensors (in the exhaust pipe), resulting in the car running poorly and/or stopping.
This ONLY affects cars with electronic fuel injection systems (usually newer than about 1995, depends on the car), but seemingly not cars built in the last 3 years.
It seems that permanent damage is occurring, requiring replacement of the sensor.

Older cars with carburettors should NOT be affected.

If your car has started playing up, get it checked out.

I saw this on the news today too. Will cost Tesco lots of pennies i thinks.

However..now anyone with the slightest, non-smooth running engine. who filled up at a tesco or morrisons in the whole country will be claiming.

Oh well.. the price you pay as a fuel distributor..for not running your company correctly.
Serves u right for charging us stupid money for a litre anyway!!!
